This year has been a ride. From the pandemic, the #EndSars protests, looting of palliatives and then the ASUU strike which lasted for over nine months.

A lot of plans and businesses were halted, and many lost their source of livelihood. But in all things, we give God the glory and praise.

During this year, I encountered books that helped me and widened my horizon in no small way. I’ll go right ahead to list them and also briefly say a few things about each book.

- JANUARY

1. Small business big money by Akin Alabi:

This book taught me a lot about business, especially business in Nigeria. The author emphasised the need to be the first in anything because that would make you the first thought in people's minds when they think of that product you sell. E.g. many people refer to any noodles as Indomie, not knowing Indomie is a kind of noodle.

2. Logo tools by Ian Paget:

Talks about different computer software that can design a professional logo and other plug-ins and extensions

- FEBRUARY

3. The God Chasers by Tommy Tenney:

I read the first few pages of this awesome book and I began speaking in tongues as tears rolled down my eyes. I was on a bus going somewhere so I really tried to control myself, but the more I tried the more I lost control. I couldn’t understand it until I met another person who had read the book with the exact experience.

This book positively injured my passion for God in a way that I doubt if I can ever recover from it.

4. The Entrepreneur Mind. 100 Essential Beliefs, Characteristics, and Habits of Elite Entrepreneurs by Kelvin D Johnson:

This was a mind shift for me. Here’s an excerpt from the book:

- “It must be borne in the mind that the tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in not having any goal to reach. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for. Not failure, but low aim is sin. - Benjamin E Meyes.

5. Logo brief by Ian Paget:

Basically talks about how to write a design brief containing a set of instructions that would help a designer achieve the desired results of the project.

6. He came to set the captives free by Rebecca Brown M.D:

This was one scary book I read this year. Very scary, LOL. But I thank God I read it, in fact, I now understand I was led to read it because it opened me up to understand the ministry of deliverance even better. I was a complete novice when it came to the issue of deliverance until this book happened. Thank God for Apostle Arome Osayi who recommended the book to me.

7. How to receive and minister the baptism of the Holy Spirit by Joan Hunter, Charles and Frances Hunter:

I was blessed by the book even though the method I currently use in ministering the baptism of the Holy Ghost is completely different and was given to me by revelation. But I strongly recommend the book as it has scriptural backings and examples, and the authors are people of excellent report and results in ministry.

8. The gifts and ministries of the Holy Spirit by Dr Lester Sumrall:

Great book, Lester Sumrall did an exceptional job of dissecting the gifts and ministries of the Holy Ghost in this book. He opened my eyes to a lot of truths too. You should read it.

- APRIL

9. Message from the Cross by Watchman Nee:

The author highlighted the reason we have many preachers and teachings but yet little or no change on our streets and he observed that before a man can preach a message that can change another man the preacher must, first, be affected by his own message if not it would be a waste of time.

10. Logo present by Ian Paget:

Deals with the matter of how to present a project to your client so they would appreciate it.

11. Internet truths by Ronald Nzimora:

Reveals truths relevant in the 21st century for doing business online.

12. Time management by Henry Onukwuba:

Secrets to effective time management and how to apply them.

- MAY

13. The Spiritual Man (VOL 1) by Watchman Nee:

This was the hardest book I read this year, followed by its second volume. Yet it is highly impactful and would make you cry for your lifetime and time again. Sometimes I would have to speak in tongues for some time before reading it to understand even a little from the very heavy content the author was communicating. Other times when I returned to the book, I would have to go back a few pages to understand what the author was now talking about. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BABES!

14. Hosting the presence of God by Bill Johnson:

After reading this book, I went in search of the tape and I found it on YouTube. I even downloaded loads of other books by the same author. He demystified a lot of things in this book just like he did in his books; when heaven invades earth and the supernatural power of a transformed mind. One major take away from this book for me is that the major problem of Christians is the consciousness of Who we carry within and Upon us. Awesome book, every believer should read it.

15. Logo files by Ian Paget:

Talks about several ways to save logo files as occasion demands.

16. Logo clients by Ian Paget:

Shows, where to get buyers for your logo and work. The author listed some market places for creatives, especially logo makers.

17. The spiritual man (VOL 2) by Watchman Nee:

This was the hardest book I read this year, after reading its first volume. It is highly impactful and would make you cry for your life, time and time again. Sometimes I would have to speak in tongues for some time before reading it to understand even a little from the very heavy content the author was communicating.
